I am so excited for this transformational adventure! I want to help you drop into the presence and the power of the land on a primal level, to interpret the messages if a troop of baboons turns up outside your bedroom windows, to feel deeply seen by a lion looking directly in your eyes from 30 feet away... And I get that can be scary, big change always is.
The intention for this retreat is to connect with the magic in Africa and lovingly transform any playing-it-safe patterns that part of you is using to hold you back, so you can bring that Oneness - that continual divine support and connection - back home to your everyday life. I want you to be able to expand your business with ease and confidence, to have more energy to enjoy your loved ones, to stop struggling and start experiencing flow, receiving the signs and serendipities available to us all!
And I also understand if you have practical concerns. I’d lived in several countries and traveled the world as a writer for Lonely Planet Guidebooks, and I still had questions before the first time I traveled to South Africa.
This Q+A call will help you explore your dreams, desires, discomforts - and will go over all the details!

Hi, I’m Lisa…
I’m a Transformational Coach, a Traveler, a Writer, and a Creative. Exploring our world has been a passion my entire life. In addition to a having called a number of states home, I’ve lived in five foreign countries (Slovakia, Hungary, Canada, Korea and the UAE) and speak four languages. (Five if you count Texan!) For 15 years I traveled the globe for Lonely Planet, co-authoring more than forty guidebooks about the places I love most, and I adored every minute of it.
But eventually I felt the call to deepen my own spiritual path and help others explore their inner as well as their outer world. Six years ago I followed my intuition into life coach training with the Martha Beck Institute (now Wayfinders) and began traveling to South Africa regularly with fellow coaches and friends - which changed my life. In the African bush it was so easy to see what was real and what wasn’t, to drop in and be truly present, to connect to something larger than myself. The land and the animals also brought much comfort, and many lessons, for me when in a few short years we lost my mother, her brother, my mother-in-law and my father. Just for good measure, during that time the universe threw in two hurricanes, one freak Texas freeze and two ‘bouts of Coronavirus.
After being knocked down and struggling to get back up on my own so many times, I became determined to figure out how to bring the Oneness - the connection and continuous Divine support I felt in the wilds of Africa - back home with me. I dove deep into spiritual texts, I learned techniques to love all my parts and to soothe my nervous system, and I studied transformation in Darla LeDoux’s Sourced Leader training.
I dream of a world where everyone feels safe enough to live in the fullest expression of their True Self. What I know for sure is that so much more is possible than most of us think! I also know that we don’t have to learn through pain, like I did, we can learn through joy - and that’s what I want for you!
That’s why I created the Open to the Magic - in Africa! Retreat container: to help heart-centered humans, light workers, coaches and other spiritual seekers love and transform what keeps them struggling from their small self so they start living in the flow that is available when connected to ALL THAT IS. When we raise our vibration, we are not healed alone. Our planet needs you to free yourself so you can help free others!
The Open to the Magic - in Africa! Retreat is a true meeting point of all my passions - traveling and adventure, inner exploration (spirituality, healing, growth), creativity (birthing new things)… Oh, and I really enjoy taking care of people, being an excellent host! So ..
